Jennifer Ryan-Bryant is an associate professor of English and coordinator of the English MA program. She teaches courses in poetry, the American novel, African-American literature, and women's literature. Among the courses she teaches for WGS are ENG 231 - Women in Literature and ENG 385 - Gender and Sexuality in Literature. She has published on black women's jazz poetry, blues singer Bessie Smith, Wanda Coleman, Sonia Sanchez, Ezra Pound, improvisation, and African-American superheroes, among other topics.
