The BSC Cinephiles in collaboration with the English Department present the Fall 2019 films series, a celebration of women in film.
The first film in the series, Shoes (1916), was directed by pioneering filmmaker Lois Weber. Based on a short story by Stella Wynne Herron, Shoes tells the story of a young woman battling against poverty. Eva, the film's main character, must support her entire family on a meager income. Without spending money to spare, Eva attempts to find a way to afford a new pair of shoes once her only pair has completely fallen apart.
All are welcome to join us as at this free event as we watch and discuss this milestone in women's filmmaking.
